A beautiful piece. It's interesting to see the merging of the two styles.

The collaboration is kind of abstract, really. I made him some blades, and traded them for handles. He will do as he wishes with the blades, and I will do as I wish with the handles, in our own respective time/manner. But yes, there will be more. I am working on another one currently.

And yes, it is available. I thought I'd put that bit up in the "for sale" category.

Very beautiful, though sadly out of my price range at the moment. Love to see a pic of it taken apart. Just curious, what is the very nice weathered tartan serving as the background?

The tartan is weathered "Smith", Lochcarron Strome. I wear it because of my maternal Grandmother, and because I am one, quite literally. I like double entendre'.

Beautiful work Howard. I recognize that tartan! The blades that Howard makes are absolutely THE top of the line. They hold an edge like forever... especially if you keep it in your sock, it will be sharp and there when you need it. I would highly recommend one of his knifes.

    Hi Howard,
    I've just seen this thread.
It's great to see how the Sgian Dubh has come out.
Your blades are probably the best that I've seen so it's an honour and pleasure to work with you.
