Glad you had such a swell time!

My wife and I have been dancing for about 18 years...everything from two step and shuffle to Argentine and ballroom tango to waltz, foxtrot and West Coast to salsa, merengue, samba and bolero. But I've only been wearing the kilt for less than a year.
Nevertheless, here's a photo of myself and my better half dancing in a cowboy bar/restaurant in Guthrie, Oklahoma. One of my friends is sitting in with the band.

Even if you don't know how to dance, your kilt will know. Trust me on this.

Dancing in my kilt
I have a traditional (heavy mass) kilt and have attended several formal functions. At a number of professional events, a number of women complimented me on the kilt and said it looked better than they expected. The vast majority of people do not realize you do not rent or purchase a formal kilt "off the rack." When asked where I obtained my clothes I say, "Scotland." Frequently, men come up (physicians, attorneys, professionals) and say, "Your kilt really looks good, but I would never have the guts to wear that." A woman observed me sit down at one event (carefully smoothing the kilt behind as I sat). She emotionally exclaimed, "How did you know how to do that?!" I replied, "Lots of practice!"
Wear your kilt often with confidence and pride!

Totally agree that dancing in a kilt is such a great experience that once you've tried it, you will not want to dance wearing anything else.

I dance about as well as a rock swims.....
I've got rythm, I've got the moves.... But can't seem to make them work together.....
Nobody can figure out why... been doing music for about 28 years, martial art for 15 years....
Will gladly take lessons soon with my lovely wife AND will wear the kilt .....
He he he ...

The first time I wore my kilt when I had finished it, doing the first step of the highland fling.
We call it 'swingedge'. As in: 'Holy Cow! Lookit the swingedge that kilt has!!'
