A point of etiquette: pins, flowers, the rosettes of orders, are worn only in the left lapel. While it's great that the mayor made the effort to wear a kilt, an argyll jacket would have been more appropriate than a Prince Charlie coatee. That said, he had the sense to not wear a bow tie.

Looks great, not often that we get to see a public official on this side of the pond in a kilt. I did notice that he took the flower off when he had his sash (?) of office put on.

Being a native Chicagoan, I dont recall ever seeing any of our Mayors in a kilt, not even for the St Patricks Day parades or Tartan Days...
We do, however, often see our Governors in stripes!
