My best advice is to give them as much time as you can, and enjoy each age (phase) as they grow up too quickly
Sound advice, Carolina, I very much regret that for a variety of reasons I was unable to spend much time with my daughter when she was growing up, and now that I am a position where I want to and could spend time with children there are none in the family nor on the horizon at the moment.

Having a kilt preppedahead of time is a good idea. I do that before a band gig. For casual wear, I wear a utilikilt. No sporran. I can be in it and gone faster tan pants.
