Yeah, which is why I don't know why I didn't remember that...its been a while since I had to tape up a chanter, I have had pretty good luck with plug and play reeds (it helps when you're not trying to tune to other pipers), and for some lame reason I was thinking that taping it (making the hole smaller) would sharpen it .....I guess I have been out of loop for WAAAAYYYY too long, and don't have this stuff being drilled into me on a regular basis...but that is soon to be remedied...

My band used to have this issue (flat F's) when we changed to shepherd chanters.. As stated before pinch, shave and if that doesn't work try another make in it..
