I just realized that at my next birthday I'll have been married for exactly 1/2 of my life.

Well gee, my hubby and I enjoy Valentine's Day. Sure, sometimes we'll get each other little things and other times it's just waking up with a smooch and a "Happy Valentine's Day, Sweetie".... Other times, we make fun plans. For example, tonight some friends of ours are throwing a martini party and we're going to that. Yesterday, my sweetie took me to see the Tutankhamun exhibit in Dallas.
And yup, we're sweet, cutesy, and sappy all year 'round, but don't mind this "Hallmark Holiday" one bit
edited to add: Since I never had a boyfriend before I met him after high school, I am perfectly thrilled to finally have someone special say "Happy Valentine's Day" to me and vice versa!

The ribbon cutting for the Phogfan86 wing of the doghouse will be at noon. Cookies and punch will be served. Drawings for door prizes.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Phogfan86,
I corrected the title of your thread to read "doghouse" instead of "doughouse" .
I am sure that Doug will be grateful
Cheers

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I hate Hallmark Holidays. Why let your expressions of love for your SO be dictated by the calendar? There are folks on this forum who live this all year round. That is how love should be, and we so often fail to live up to it as the daily grind works away at us.
DITTO! And, fortunately, my wife is totally on board with my anti "Hallmark Holiday" sentiment.
