I did attempt it once, on night shift. I did get through Moby Dick on Night Shift though so that has to count for something.

For my American Manhood Lit class we did Moby Dick in a week, it was brutal, haven't read Zhivago or War and Peace. I'm not feeling that masochistic

I have never liked the film - I don't know why, I have seen it on TV, or rather parts of it, I find it tedious.

I was a precocious reader and went through the local library and then the main town library whilst still at school and have been waiting for more books to be written in order to have something to read.

I was very disappointed that, having found Asimov and Anderson, then Clarke at the beginning of the shelves, further down the alphabet the science fiction and fantasy tapered off considerably.

I have always found that my mental images when reading tend to be far more interesting than the ones on a cinema screen created for the film of the book.

I loved the original Dr. Zhivago. The re-make really was quite different, and when I saw it as it's own stroy, I enjoyed it more. Hard to walk in the foot steps of a classic.
