I shouldn't tell on family like this, but my "baby" brother, (he is 69) takes about 10-11 yards for a formal kilt. (140cm chest & hips, abt 55" and 130cm waist,) still nowhere near the 100 yard range.

I like this new rating system.. I have:

    a 1 yard kilt
    a 5yard kilt
    and two 10 yarders!

    That's too funny

Of all the things to become celebrity over. My answer to my 50 yard kilt is to make a sporran so big that it covers up most of the kilt.

An interesting solution to the 50 yard kilt. Last Burns' Night here I saw a few 50 yard kilts; but it's at the Highland Games that they appear most often. Thanks for the phrase, I'll never look at them again the same way as before that phrase.

"They'll never see it from a galloping horse!" (Never was sure if this meant I should be on the horse, or my observers. . .)
