A Clarification regarding The Mod Squad and the phrase "Mod Hat Off"
On behalf of the Moderating Staff of X Marks the Scot I would like to offer a clarification regarding Moderator participation in threads here on X Marks the Scot.
If Colin, Glen, Bradley, David, Nelson, Todd, or myself state "Mod Hat Off" when we post this means:
We are writing as a member of X Marks the Scot and not a Moderator of X Marks the Scot
Our opinion is just that, ours. We aren't speaking for anyone else. Especially the "The Mod Squad", Hank, or X Marks the Scot.
Insofar as that particular thread is concerned we abdicate all Moderator responsibilities. If there is a concern or discussion regarding this thread amongst the Moderating staff we refrain from any part of the staff deliberations or final verdict concerning the thread.
We are just as liable for our actions as any member. If we post something out of line it is the duty of our fellow moderators to warn us and / or remove material that is against the rules of our forum.
Just like anyone else.
The whole lot of us are members of X Marks the Scot first and foremost. We are here because we have a love of kilts and we like this place. Our interests are diverse, our tastes are varied, and the reasons that brought us here are all different. But we all like being here and participating as members. Each one of us took on being part of the Moderating staff to try and give back a little to this great community. We try our best to be fair. When we personally feel very strongly about a subject and want to write as members we note that we are "taking our Mod Hat" off as an alert to our fellow moderators and a courtesy to the rest of the fourum.
We hope that this will clear up any misunderstandings now and in the future.
Sincerely
Jamie and the Mod Squad

Hey Jamie man, Thank you and the other Mods for being strait up with us. I know I haven't been on XMarks long, but I appreciate all that you and the other Mods have done so far, yall give great advice and views on different subjects, and I appreciate all the expert advice I can get. And thank you to everyone else on here, old and new, for helping me learn more and meet new people here on XMarks. God knows a crazy Scot-Irish southerner like me needs all the help he can get.
Slainte!!!

I thought you took the mod hats off to intimidate us with your pointy horns, like these:
Best regards,

I don't remember either Pete, Julie or Linc ever wearing hats on the old Mod Squad show (1968-75) so I myself am a bit perplexed by this particular thread. Must have missed something somewhere. (wink)

I would be more concerned when the Pith helmet is removed because that would indicate that he's pithed off!

Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

Oooh, that was bad.... Just what we have come to expect.

All of the mods do a fantastic job and contribute so wonderfully to the community as mods and as members. They deserve to take their hat off once in a while.
