I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Because Dan boxes he's going to have a lot of shoulder muscle, probably more than the average guy. That being the case, swapping out the shoulder pads shouldn't have too much effect on the way the jacket hangs from the shoulders.

    Ok Dan.
Sorry about that. I've got it stuck in my mind that these are huge, huge shoulder pads like the old style jackets had; almost like wings sticking out from the sides. It might just be a minor issue.

I don't think so at all. If they shoulder pads are still in the jacket, I can't even tell in this picture.

If this is to be an outfit that you intend to wear to your wedding, I think it'd benefit us and yourself to be able to see your full ensemble if possible.

For example, what sporran are you intending to wear, what hose, shoes, etc.

The Jacket that you purchased might work just fine, it's just hard to tell without seeing all the other accessories that you're going to wear. Could you take another picture of your finished outfit and post it?

Congratulations on the wedding by the way, I wish you and your family a lifetime of happy years together.
