I feel for you... I have been having thoughts about letting mine go... I have a 96 ultra classic but I work on the road and it's hard to keep it with me..
I hope you do not hurt long.. And with your kind deed, you get a quality replacement bike.

I feel your pain. I had to sell this last year:

and tomorrow, my last vestiges of motorcycling will go on craigslist:

Sighhhhhh.

I've wanted a bike like that since I watched Long Way Round with Ewan McGregor. One day.

A fellow RT rider would know the depths of my sorrow.
My one consolation- I still have two wheels I can pedal.

I feel your pain Todd, I really do.
When we moved last year I found that I could not afford to insure my bike in our new province, so I sold it. A tear or four were shed as it's new owner hauled it away.

hmmmm
would it make it any easier to know they are being enjoyed by a fellow Xmarker? I would be happy to take one off someones hands at a highly discounted rate...

Sorry to hear that you are having to sell the Beemer bike. What a sweet ride. However, you are making a wise choice for your family, and your good deed will be repaid in kind in the future I'm certain.

That is a lovely bike, sorry to learn of the circumstances. I'm in the pre-early-stages of a similar situation, having decided to sell my original-owner 1980 Mazda RX-7 (yes, the very reason I am "Sydnie7" on this and many other sites). I do not have your time pressures but it will probably leave the family by year's end. . . my only consolation being that Bob and I will replace it with an equally interesting sports car of some other flavor when finances allow. I hope you have similar "someday" plans to keep you warm at night
