Thanks, McMurdo. In that thread I saw 2 photos of him as an adult and 1 as a child casually wearing just a shirt without a waistcoat/jacket or sweater and not wearing a belt in any of those. I suspect that these photos were captured at quite casual moments, possibly where the sweater or weskit had been removed.
I would also suspect that Charles largely adheres to the Old World sense of propriety that a man is not "dressed" in shirt-sleeves alone, at least in public. Makes we want to get matching weskits for my Argyll/Crail jackets!
