Yet another tweed kilt jacket...but with sporran!
So I'm not allowed to come into work for the remainder of the week. I work for Hospice, and most of my clients have severely compromised immune systems and live in nursing homes. Since I have pneumonia I'm not allowed to go there . But since I'm stuck at home I'm going to make the best of it! I just picked up a tweed jacket from the local salvation army. Additionally, I bought some nice shiny buttons and everything I need to make a new matching sporran! All this, cost me $14! I slept the entire day, so tonight I will be working on this and taking pictures.

Good for you but don't over do it if you need to rest. I hope you are feeling better and good luck with the projects.

Sounds good Jamie. Hope you get well soon.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

The real beauty of doing jacket conversions (from my admittedly Scottish view point) is the little cost involved. In your case, you have invested $14. Now while you are recovering [I really don't understand you wanting to do a jacket conversion while you have pneumonia] you can fight the enforced boredom by keeping busy.
For your pneumonia I offer this stolen from some health magazine:
Treatment For Pneumonia: If you have a bacterial pneumonia, you will need to take an antibiotic. The antibiotic will depend on your age, and your medical conditions. You should also drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated, since this helps your body fight the pneumonia. Anti-fever medicines such as Tylenol or Advil may also help you feel better. Cough as much as you comfortably can, to help clear the mucus and phlegm from your lungs. If you've been diagnosed with viral pneumonia, you need to rest and drink plenty of fluids. If you work much or over-exert yourself when you have viral pneumonia, you can possibly get sicker. You can use over the counter medicines to reduce fever, body aches, and cough. You must rest and drink lots of fluids in order for your body to heal and get better.
Get well soon, and show us the results please.

Lol James you made me chuckle aloud. I promise that I am taking care of myself. I am taking antibiotics and tylenol for my fever which is now abated. And I'm drinking lots of orange juice to stay hydrated! I just needed something to keep me busy while I'm stuck at home, I don't like being bored

My wife gets pneumonia a lot. I have seen her walking with pneumonia (walking pneumonia) and just down right knocked off her feet.
Be well, take it easy, and rest.

The key to the tratment seems to be "Drink plenty of fluids" - - - a good single malt is a fluid - Right???

Aye it is, though it doesn't go well with antibiotics .
I finished trimming the jacket up and sewing the new buttons on. I'm now completing the matching sporran, pics to arrive shortly
