Your outfit was very well put together--the consistency in the level of formality of your elements, and, of course, the tartan hose, make for a sober, stunning and tasteful outfit. Your friend sounds like she was a wonderful person. I hope I can find a fraction of that grace at my own passing. You must have a great deal of strength to play at her service--some of which she passed on to you and the others around her...perhaps the best memorial of all. Regards...
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Josh, your post says volumes about your friend... and those around her. We should all hope to pass on in circumstances like hers. Bless her, and all who saw her off.

The world is a better place because of people like your friend, and yourself also. It's a fine thing to fulfill last wishes and offer the final measure of respect.
