who flew a full tour of thirty missions as rear gunner on a Lancaster bomber and who today celebrated his 89th birthday, though as it turned out I did not get to see Harry today.

Well, stay by this guy, some of his luck and tenacity might rub off on you.

Funny that there's a pipe pand in Oman, a country so far away from Scotland and yet there's no pipe band here in Iceland, only about 2 hours of flying away.

What great photo's. You gave me quite a feeling of nostalgia as I lived in North Berwick as a youngster. There were no highland games there then, but it was where I first heard the pipes.

Thanks for the picts. That would have been a lot of fun to hear the playing of the massed bands. That many pipes together would be an AWESOME experience.
