A local band called Gobs O' Phun have a song about a pipe band who eat too much cabbage, beans and haggis the night before a parade. It's called Tootin' In The Tartan. At the end of the song, the drummers end up wearing their sporrans in the back... Gods bless the Gobs.

I particularly like 'The Kilty Lads' by Sir Harry Lauder. Sir Harry has a certain smile in his voice that bring a vision to my mind's eye of twinkle in his eye and much simpler time.
I've dug out some of my old records by him, some of them originals from the 19-teens. Great stuff like "I Love a Lassie", and "Roamin' in the Gloamin'". Superb!

I'll second Barleyjuice and "Whats up Yours?".. They also do a version of "Tartan is the color of my true loves hair"

This all reminds me that my dad's 78 rpms are still in a box in my sister's garage. There are few Harry Lauder records in there that I must dig out/sell.

Barleyjuice also has a song called "My Bonnie Lassie And Me" that mentions wearing
a kilt.

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
