Well folks I finally got some time and got outside to test out my baby!!

I gotta say that I couldn't be more happy with them. If you've been following my posts, then you'll probably notice that the handle is a little different. I've decided to go with a 5/8" round ring that I've had blacksmithed, with 3 pieces of 3/8" chain. The handle before was 1/2 plate steel that was ground smooth. The one downfall of this new design is that the price went up.

Now I'm not going to pretend to be an expert at highland games nor the implements, but I got to say that in my opinion, this weight feels great. The swing felt a lot better using this then with my rough scrap made weight. And it was real SOLID! I was a little curious to see if the weights would start coming loose after some good throws, but they didn't. Each time it hit the ground, there was a nice solid THUMP instead of the clang of plates smacking together...

I'm going to be at the NAHA Nationals (in Holland KS) on the 19th, and I'm going to bring this weight for anyone who wants to give it a spin.

    Just out of curiosity...

What would the price be for a plate set up to 42 pounds (I'm a master don't need 56), no hand-ring (got two) and no shackles (got lots)....just enough plates and spacers to make a 20, 28 and 42, the center bolt and the big eye nut?

The standard set (everything from 14# up to 56#) is $110. If you'd like just to be able to go up to 42 with no handle, I could probably go for $75. Let me know... send me an e-mail sometime.

Please disregard the last post - after looking over the numbers again I realized that the weight up to 42# will be $90 NOT $75. Sorry about that!
