The thing to watch for, though, is that these are made specifically to fit a Ferguson Britt sporran, and they are a bit wider than your average sporran strap. If I recall correctly, they are 1" wide, as opposed to the more usual 3/4".
So they won't necessarily fit through the loop in the back of all sporrans. Make sure your sporran will accommodate a 1" wide strap before ordering.
Thanks - that's good to know - I'll check to see if it'll work and get in touch if it does.

Does it make me a redneck if I'm thinking about visiting Tractor Supply Company (or Agway or any other place that would typically sell tack and leather) to look for a sporran strap?

I bet Tractor Supply has something you could use for a strap Do you have a picture?
I bought my 2 leather sporran straps from Meijer's... woven leather belts about 4" larger than my waist.

Absolutely not, in fact it's a great idea.

It makes you a redneck in a good way. Please recall that a neck becomes red through honest labor out of doors. That's why I take exception to its use as a pejorative; it should be a compliment.
As MacMillan of Rathdown pointed out recently, if you find someone that actually makes leather tack, they could fix you right up!

(Dons Foxworthy hat) If your sporran is a full mask 'possum...you might be a redneck! (Foxworthy hat off)
Sound like a fine idea to me!

They are beautiful sporrans. They cost about the same as my latest kilt, but they are beautiful.
