Try the Celtic Croft's (www.kiltsnstuff.com) homspun wool blend. I wore mine in August, and the temps here easily reach 100+ that time of year (and generally have high humidity then too). It is really good quality. I bought a phillabeg, but I believe they make some other kilts with it as well.

Brice,
Skye Highland Outfitters sells a 4-yard and an 8-yard pv kilt. The owner, Josh (NorCalPiper), is a member of this forum and provides very good customer service.

I wanted to add a little more to this. I am worried about the weight of a 'tank'. My first kilt was a wool/acrylic mix, that I believe was an 7-8 yard. It was a very heavy material and I never liked it because it was so heavy. It was a cheap kilt. Should I be worried about the weight of the tank?

What's your problem? Are you that weak that you can't deal with a few extra ounces?.
Be a man.
Save your money till you can afford a well constructed made to measure kilt offered by the many fine kiltmakers that advertise here.
A made to measure kilt will fit like a glove. It will be a part of you and you won't notice the weight of the kilt till you take it off.
Once you wear a kilt with a bit of weight to it, experience the swish you won't go back to a light weight...totally different class of kilt.

Thanks for being honest. Pretty sure I am a man. I am debating between a polyviscose and a wool. Wool and heat do not sound like a good combination.

Actually wool is the better choice as it breathes. If it gets wet it still keeps you warm. The excellent swish factor will move the air around your legs to keep you cool. It holds the pleat better. easy to clean as well. Drop it in a bathtub of cool water, gently agitate, towel dry then lay flat. A bit of steam or ironing and you're good to go again. Tanks are great. They can take a beating and look good and will last you a long time. When averaged out the tank will be cheaper in the long run for the years of service it will provide.
