Well...and this is coming from a man who has thirteen typewriters...you could always use the typewriter and then scan with optical character recognition software and then paste it into the body of a post...
...oddly enough, I heard a story on the news earlier today about the movement of people away from computer oriented communication and back to hand and type written letters sent through the mails. It was referred to as the counterpart of the "slow food" movement. For those interested:

This sounds like a sort of "exquisite corpse" sort of writing assignment...each chapter being written by a different individual. Could be interesting.
