Let's save the Tale! Calling XMTS' resident writers to save the XMTSAS Saltire

As some of you know I was one of the original story tellers of XMTS.

After completing three small efforts I attempted a fourth

Panache and the Curious affair of the Gin and Tonic

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/p...x.html?t=39468

Unfortunately the tale has stalled and I have found myself just stuck and unable to finish it (personally I blame Bill for this).

So the XMTS Saltire has been stuck hovering in its "cloud cloak" over London in 1970's.

But the Beatles had some sage advice for those in need

"I get by with a little help from my friends"

So for those interested in getting the tale moving again I ask for some help.

The writers interested in seeing the quest continue and would be willing to write a chapter of this tale please send me a PM.

I will give you a brief outline of the next chapter

Then you write it and add it to the story

Much like the little XMTSAS Saltire that travels the globe belongs to the entire forum not me, I offer up this tale.

    The rules

You must have read the entire story
    You must follow the outline
You must stick to the characters you are given to write about

    Cheers

So let me get this right. Panache, the great Panache could not finish a "Gin & Tonic"! Well that truly is a first.

Now why am I picturing all these writers are out there, sitting at their typewriters, cheeky smirk upon their faces, devilishly rubbing their hand together whilst staring at a picture of me? Oh, the humanity.

I just had a thought and need to add a rule to the story guidelines

    The rules

You must have read the entire story
    You must follow the outline
You must stick to the characters you are given to write about
You may not kill, injure, mutilate, torture, or othrewise maim Grant unless it is specifically detailed in the story outline you are given.*

    Cheers

    Jamie

    * Note that "humiliate" was speciffically not listed here.

Well I am glad you said that, Kaptain, but would you clarify that a bit. Throwing Grant into the wall at The Wizard's shop is humiliating so I can do that again? Maybe more than once!

I'm sure the Wizard bounces off of the walls of his shop all the time from all that coffee. I'm sure he's not humiliated by it. I doubt that you could do that again, I've since added about 15Lbs of beer fat from working out.

Oddly enough - I think that I was there, in the city at that time, visiting someone who actually went to the concert mentioned in the story.

It might get a bit strange writing about fictional events in a time and place when I was really there.

If they're still using typewriters, chances are we won't be reading their tomes any time soon.
What do you say we move the entire forum back to typewriters and the Postal Services of our various and sundry native lands? We'd all get some cool stamps that way!

It would certainly add an interesting perspective Anne.

I am pleased to say that I had a taker for the next chapter and (hopefully) the game is afoot again!

However we will still need more writers, heck I think I myself might have something to contribute.

    Cheers
