When I was younger Jon Pertwee was my favorite. As an adult I have to say Sylvester McCoy is my favorite Doctor. I have always felt that Colin Baker could have been one of the best Doctor's, but that he wasn't allowed to be. I believe that David Tennant is a great doctor, oh heck, I just like Doctor Who. How about a related question: Who likes K-, and who is your favorite companion.

Just finished watching Part II, I thought it was Brilliant, yet somewhat sad that that the Dr. was allowed to see his Companions and give each a "gift" one last time. I am unfamiliar with the "new face", so will wait with baited breath to see the new season.

    Cheers,

My first Doctor...and so I have to say, MY Doctor was John Pertwee. Flamboyant, Victorian...a definite dandy but every bit the man of action. Loved the Brigadier and Sarah Jane...and Liz (schwing!) for the few episodes that I saw with her in them. One of the best things, though, was the introduction of The Master as played by Roger Delgado...a man who could arch an eyebrow with the best of them...what a great villain! His subsequent reincarnation with Anthony Ainley taking over was totally prime.

Tom Baker was great and a very good friend of mine and I got to go to the first and maybe only personal appearance that he did in Chicago...I found myself the only male in what had to be twenty rows in the front that were female. I have really loved all of them as they have all brought their own special touches to the role. If I, personally, was one of the Doctors, I would be the very first...a crabby old man in a police box. Chris Eccleston mad it quite edgy, though, and I loved the entire arc of his tenure as the Doctor: in the first episode he has the line, "...everything dies" and when the story line has come full circle, Rose repeats that line when she destroys the Daleks using the power of the Time Vortex...one of the most poignant moments of TV that I've ever seen. That regeneration might have been the most moving of them all..."...I was going to take you to Barcelona...not the city; the planet..." and "I'll never see you again...not with this daft, old face, anyway..." great stuff...makes ya cry.

The Master is destroyed for all time...but manages to come back.
The Daleks are destroyed for all time and manage to come back.
The Time Lords are destroyed for all time and manage to come back.
The Doctor is destroyed and manages to come back.

We all wish that we could come back for the people that need us and so that we could continue to fight the good fight.

Maybe that's the charm of Doctor Who.

    Best

Just finished watching both parts of "The End of Time".. I thought it was brilliant. What a wonderful way to send off Ten! (Though I will admit I was sad to see him go)
    Here's a look at 11:

I actually was able to see many of the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton episodes thanks to a local PBS station but I have to admit Tom Baker has always been my favorite Doctor. I think David Tennant deserves much credit for bringing the series to a new level of popularity and now its time to see what Matt Smith will do - time will tell I suppose but at least he wears a bow tie...

    Here's to number eleven!

The BBC iplayer doesn't work outside the U.K, but I have a programme on my computer that plays British T.V.t live. So long as I know what time it's on there I can make sure I am up and ready to watch it.

    You can get it here.

It doesn't work right now but keep an eye on it. When it's fixed they'll put it back up there.

I knew I had seen the young man before - but that IS Captain Jack - if ever there was someone who likes to live dangerously...

And he probably will like going for nice long runs in interesting locations, a win win situation really.
