The price is probably reasonable, especially if it can be authenticated to c. 1820, which I doubt that it can. This is definitely not something to be worn with the kilt. It is a collector's item. ith:

It is a beautiful piece. I wish I could afford. I would use it with a formal outfit.

Making one to that standard of craftsmanship today (in Scotland or the USA) would cost a good bit more than what it sold for, I assure you.

Sometimes the experience of seeing something beautiful is enough. I can't afford to buy everything I like, nor would I have the place to put everything I like, but it is nice to be able to look at nice things.

Incredible. Thanks for the link just to be able to see it. If it were worn around here I am sure the police would confiscate it and charge one with possessing a dangerous weapon. But WOW!!!
