I believe that in Dumfries, on the exact spot where Robert is reputed to have commited the dastardly deed, there now stands a DVD rental shop. Nowt's sacred mate, nothing's sacred.

Hence my disclaimer. I'll be happy to join you in a pub for a wee dram or a pint, but just don't ask me to go to Kirk with you.

Thanks for posting this! My Mom was Bruce, and I am thinking of getting Bruce tartan for my next kilt to honor her side of the family. Both Modern & Hunting are beautiful tartans. I'm going to keep a link to this post for consideration of my own Bruce kilt
