OK, so I got the blade, which is a dirk blade from Atlanta Cutlery. Now admittedly, these aren't the highest quality blades on the market, and I'll never use their sgian dubh blades again, but I do like their larger blade. They're good blades- especially at the price point. So without further rambling from me... Here's the blade alongside the handle:
Notice the full length tang. I actually had to cut about an inch off of the tang because it was so long that it wouldn't fit in a normal size handle- you could make a hand and a half dirk with these!

Now as most of you know by now, I have been planning to leave an angle on the handle at the base of the blade, which required me to cut a notch in the handle so the blade would sit straight. This is the notch:

I cut it with a saw and filed it smooth.
This is how the blade fits into the notch:

Side view of blade/angled handle:

Front view of seated blade:

And the knife assembled, being modeled by my son:

And tomorrow, I'll be starting on the sheath!

Once again its look fantastic, I've been side tracked for a little bit, been working on a few other project (including moving the buckles on my SWK to give a tighter fit) but everytime I come back to your page It makes me want to did my tools out of my closet and start work on another blade!
For the sheath are you planning on a plain leather or something with a pattern stamped into it?

I'll actually be posting picture of that this afternoon! Black leather with red lacing- no tooling or stamping. I like plain, simple and understated.
