You look very smart MOR, and might I say, a very fine example to set for proper kilt wear.

Scott,
Absolutely a splendid example of how a kilted gentleman should dress
Well done Sir, I doff my plumed hat to your sartorial splendor

Scott, I saw you at the Games, but I didn't know who you were since we've not met.
So let me say, I was remarking at how good you looked to my wife. You were quite splendid overall, just, as you said, put together in fine highland fashion. But I was also very glad that I was not in a postiion that required the same level of dress as you since I was hot in a polo shirt.

Sorry to have missed the Games and so many of you, but I am glad it was unseasonably cool in Greenville.
And you look GREAT, MoR.

Believe me, one and all, if I hadn't been "working" at the Games, I'd've been in my cool and comfies like the rest of you!
I am very sorry to have missed the group photo-- and especially sorry to have missed the opportunity to meet those XMarkers who were there on the day-- so, let me suggest that we make it a point to meet up at next year's Greenville games, and gather afterward for dinner and a cigar at the host hotel.

Perfect advice for Saxon wear as well. Find yourself a good tailor and make him (or her) your friend. It's hard to beat a perfectly fitted jacket (and awfully easy to spot one that isn't).
BTW: you look quite smart in your new jacket- great story as well.

Scott, just curious as to what type of bird donated the feathers in your bonnet (particularly the striped one)?

Terry,
I honestly don't have a clue about the feathers-- all I can say for sure is that they came (probably) from a rather large bird!
What I can tell you is that they are a bloody nuisance to wear! I'm a bit over six foot tall, and the feathers add almost a foot-- I am constantly bowing and dipping to keep the feathers from hitting things. I normally wear either a simple clansman's cap badge or my own badge with two silver feathers behind it. Not as dramatic, but infinitely more practical.
