Hi, Downunder, and thank you for the tip about sewing.
It’s not a skill my wife can boast of (not only did she battle in needlework class at school, but she has bad arthritis in her hands, among other parts of her body). However, my neighbour is quite a seamstress and I think I will rope her in sometime, when I have suitable material.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks, gentlemen, for the warm welcomes.
Where in Lesotho were you, Knome? My brother lived up close to the Transkei border for two years — I can’t recall the name of the place, but I can always drop him a line and check.

I lived in Semonkong, in central Lesotho near the Maletsunyane Falls, from 1976 - 1979. I taught at the secondary school. I have not been back (although would love to go again). I understand that there is now a road up to Semonkong. During my period, there was a dirt "road" which frequently shifted down the mountainside. We were typically on horseback instead of braving a motorized vehicle.
