    It sounds like a wonderful evening and makes me regret all the more that it was on the opposite side of the country!

    I am much enheartened by your open-handed invitation to join the dinner, for it reflects well on Scottish hospitality and courtesy. Glad to hear the dinner went so well too.

    The Lord Lyon (do we call him Lyon then?) wore his red tunic (for lack of better word) for ceremonies at Ligonier where he confessed this was his first visit to the States. The entrance of the many pipe bands and assemblage of the massed bands in a field in the remote highlands of the Appalachians is likely to have made an impression on him. He was kind enough to come by all the Clan tents twice (missed hmi both times), and later could be seen walking with his wife dressed in lovely blue and black trews.

    Yes, he is called "Lyon."
