    That's the spirit lads!

    JSFMACLJR, those are beautiful.
I suppose your used to it, but don't you find the silver effects the taste of Scotch?
My grandmother had silver that we'd use in summer for juleps or lemonade, but I always thought it changed the taste of anything else a touch.

KiltShot- I've been meaning to try the perfect pint glass... gotta find one somewhere.

Here is my favorite scotch glass. It is handmade by a gentleman in Oklahoma. I can't seem to find his name or his website right now. He makes and sells them as a set of two. I bought mine about five years ago and love it....especially when it has some Caol Ila 18 or Laphroaig Quarter Cask in it!

It does as advertised, sometimes in subtle ways, but it's comfortable to hold and drink from. The bars don't really like them because they won't stack like regular pint glasses and they're a wee bit top heavy. When they tip over they usually break. The bartenders are usually willing to give the glasses away to appreciative patrons. I got a 25th Sliver Anniversary Edition glass that way.

$8.00 on the Sam Adams website and I paid it anyway.

Just like DWFII, I too use Glencairn crystal when drinking single malts.

Here's my favorite glass for spirits, I got it in Galway.

and here's my favorite mug for beer, a gift from a ren-faire friend. Hard to see, but it has Merlin's "charm of making" ingraved on the side, and a Pingin welded to the bottom for good luck.

Now, I'm generally a Guinness man, though not more than one or two a week, but October will be upon us in a matter of hours. I'm a huge Halloween fan, and in my book, it's been Halloween season for some weeks now. What all that means is that, until November first, Guinness has to take a back seat to pumpkin ale. Now, on to the glass...

My mom is a very sweet lady, and very crafty. One of the things she enjoys is painting on glass(you paint the glassware, let it dry, then bake the paint on in the oven). The below glass was her gift to me, this year. It started as your average British made pint glass, and then became something really special to me. In the picture, it's filled with Kennebunkport Pumpkin Ale...

    What a wonderful, heartfelt gift!
It's really adorable. And while I've never been able to really develop an appreciation for pumpkin ale, I could see a nice ESB in that glass... Or even an Oktoberfest.
