Sporting and occasionally humorous, but not in the way I suspect you mean... If you're interested in bagpipes, there's Pipeline, on BBC.
"To the make of a piper go seven years of his own learning, and seven generations before. At the end of his seven years one born to it will stand at the start of knowledge, and leaning a fond ear to the drone he may have parley with old folks of old affairs." - Neil Munro

Well, I'm gonna disagree with that. It's a fine line though. We used to tell Newfie jokes and Newfs would tell mainlander jokes. It gets racists if we're spouting P@k! jokes or P0ll@k jokes but surely there's room for some good natured ribbing. I sure don't mind a good joke at my expense, if it's a good joke and well told with a respectful eye. Besides, I think USAnians should all be used to the world taking pot shots at their nation with a target that big.

BBC nostalgia may be indicated: Favorites of mine included Round the Horn (with Paul Horn) and I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again. Equally funny altho not strictly a comedy was The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy- an example of something that was far (far far far) better on radio than it ever was on TV.

When "good natured," yes I agree: but what I'm referring to is not good natured and is exactly what I said, racist. As with most things in life, I blame the left and in fact the left here mostly learns it from the left in the USA who say it about their countrymen (women). When it's repeated by an outsider, it's hateful. If doing so is also considered virtuous by the foreign propogator, it's vile. Which is not what I call funny.

Not all of us do; I frequently speak very highly of our neighbours to the north. Generalization disproven.

Frankly, and again with the exception of the South Park lads who live in a unique universe, so few Americans even think of Canada over a period of, say, a decade that it could hardly amount to much anyway. Whereas the folks I'm talking about seem to be totally obsessed with the USA. Jilted lovers? Who knows?

Again, I think you'd be surprised. I frequently mention Canadian history in my classes, and as a military historian, I fully acknowledge the bravery and history of the Canadian forces.

Personally, I love Canada and have many friends who live in BC, Ottawa and elsewere. If anything, the US could learn from Canada.
Sorry to inadvertently send the topic spiraling downward, my origional comment was ment to be in jest.

I didn't think it was spiralling, it was growing.
Anyway I'm hoping someone will take up the BBC comedy theme. I forgot one of the greatest, Hancocks Half Hour. I remember one show where Tony was determined to be the legal successor to Bonnie Prince Charlie and wanted to be installed on the throne (or, I suppose, the stone) but was rejected by the Scots.
