Ladies and Gentlemen,
Some of you may know Bill personally, some only from his Title Bar. Let me give you a little insight to how we on the staff view Bill.
For the time Bill has been on the staff he has been calm, always reasonable, and his posts are always well worded. But Bill has a real job. More than one actually. So sometimes he would not be able to log on for a while.
One day a mistake was made. I don't remember what or by who now. (It was probably me) Because Bill was not on-line at the time we decided to blame Bill. After that everything and anything that went wrong was all Bill's fault. We would wait till he logged off just to blame stuff on him.
Through all of this Bill kept his sense of humor and remained calm. This is how I will remember him.
Bill, if I ever get back to N. Carolina the drinks are on me.

A thoughtful approach and your kind words are more appreciated and
remembered than you might think. Thank you, thank you. Have fun.

One of the truly gratifying aspects of XMTS is how many friendships are made through this forum. Some of us are lucky enough to add personal meetings to the hyperspace contact.
My wife and I first meet with Bill for a memorable evening walk through Asheville to visit a microbrewery and finish at Jack in the Woods for dinner. Bill was a truly interesting tour guide and very gracious host. Thank you for that. We have subsequently caught up with each other at western NC Highland Games over the past few years.
We both joined what was then the Mod Squad together and I have enjoyed Bill's sage advice and wisdom as we worked together. I have certainly gained from my association with Bill, as I am sure all his students do as well.
So, my friend, health and happiness for the future is my wish for you.
Brian
