AA down here in west-central Illinois we have about 10" with winds out of the north at 35 to 40 mph. Near whiteout conditions here this afternoon and evening.
Best bet is to hoard good Scotch, wine, crusty bread, cheese and ammunition. Looks like this one might last a while.

It's just wet here for now. Weather.com reports it's 54 F. It's supposed to drop drastically, though. Tomorrow, we're expecting a high of 29 F and sn*w.

Heavy sleet and freezing rain here. Took me two hours to get home from work and when I did, my car had a quarter inch of ice on it.
Then I got stuck in my own driveway. Had to dig out. But al least i could break for coffee in my own kitchen.

The snow(and other precip) gets worse as you go east. Here in the northwest corner of Nebraska we didn't get much snow, but the high today was -1F and the windchill has been around -25. At present it's -22F with a windchill of -47. My butt is staying inside! I'm just glad I don't live in Wyoming. A friend there had a high of -16, with 40-50 MPH winds.
I doubt hell has frozen over, but I'm sure they are under a frost advisory.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

This year we are experiencing what is called an Atlantic Blocking High, I think, and it's pushing the bad weather that would normally be experienced at my coordinates further south. Here at 45 degrees N, we're having what is, by our standards, a somewhat quiet winter as a result- at least that's been true so far. But anyway, sorry about that.

Hey, Mark...I see the parking boxes...two feet of snow, falling temperatures, public transit ground to a standstill...but don't forget to feed the meters!
For those outside of Chicago, this is a real sore spot for us. The city, in it's infinite wisdom, sold the rights to the parking meters off for some inadequate sum and for a period of 75 YEARS...dumb, huh? So now we have these boxes where you shovel in your money and they give you a little timed ticket to put on your dashboard. Wandering morons walk around checking the tickets and giving out parking tickets if they're expired...and the city enforces the tickets while the contractor gets the fines.
Your photos remind me of 1967, though...
Best
