Only if they're padded along the shin.

The fringe on the wrong side is the least thing wrong with these.

Interesting modern look. But I can't stand the socks/leggings.

Perhaps the leggings are an attempt to balance the top-heaviness that I see with all the layers and scarf(ves) at the neckline.

Or maybe these runway models just don't have bonnie knees!

I simply cannot understand how or why, when traditional Scottish dress looks so good, the "fashion designers" manage to make it look so bad.

I'll go along with anyone who is trying to popularise kilts; they are so comfortable everyone should give it a go. It does look a bit as if they ran out of material for the outside jacket pockets though.

I think I understand the whole leading-edge fashion concept, but I can't help but agree with the above. Are they kilted cricketers, perhaps?

The interesting thing about fashion shows is that they have about as much to do with everyday wear as an art show has to do with painting the interior walls of your home. If you go to an art show and fall in love with the likes of Andy Warhol, you're not very likely to go home and paint neon Marilyn Monroe's or soup cans all over your walls, but you may in fact be impressed by an overall feeling of style or color that you implement in your home. It's the same with fashion shows. They are over the top and wild and no one expects anyone to actually dress that way, but you come away with a sense of "hey, I like the fabrics/colors/patterns he/she used," or in this case, "hey, kilts, that's kind of a cool look."

I am sure you are right there Ali, many will think like you, but to my way of thinking it would have the opposite effect of " if that's kilts--- then to the devil with them!" .

All this modern fashion is all very well and good and some super new ideas do break through, but yet again, in my humble opinion, no one has yet come up with a Kilt look to beat the one that is still basically the same as it was 100 years ago. Now that must be some fashion record!
