    Glad to hear everything went so well. I have known so many people who have had the same surgery and done splendidly afterward. I am sure she'll be happy with the results of this procedure. Her increased comfort alone will make it worthwhile. Dad recovered very quickly from the same surgery and he was quite a bit older than she is at the time!

    Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes...and sharing your stories. Her surgery was done by the CHIEF of Orthopedics at Stanford University Med Center...so I think we're in good hands!!

    Was the surgeon able to do the newer anterior-entry approach, or did he have to do the traditional lateral or posterior thing?
