Have you received it yet? I'm most interested to see it and hear your review...

Whoops Sorry I haven't gotten back until now, I got real busy and have been recovering after injuring my knee.

Yes the kilt arrived and in very good condition. It's a little bit big and too long (as I knew it would be, but for the price, I'm not complaining) and am looking to having it shortened. Its currently mid calf, very skirt-like, but I would like it up around the knees and looking more like a 'proper' kilt. I will look into the straps first and see how much length is 'taken up' when they are tightened/shifted.

As for the fabric, its nice and soft and light-weight, good for Aussie summers, but I wouldn't want to be caught in a stiff breeze The pleats are a little shallow so it lack the 'swish' unfortunately. The tartan its self is rather dark. I know that Black Watch is very dark and the black stripes are seldom seen in the dark blue, but the green on this one is as dark as the blue. When inside it can all look black, it isn't until you get into the bright light outside that you can see there is a tartan. The photos on the wesite where it was sold didn't show this as they were taken with a flash. I would have liked a little more contrast.

A good little kilt but not the quality of the custom made-to-measure tanks. I will still be 'Jonesing' a nice Grant Modern but until I can afford that, I can dream.

    Pics hopefully to come...
(I noticed in the posting rules at the bottom, that I can't post pics yet. It could be because I'm a Newbie, that might change later)

MoR is correct. The original HHI, which was started in the 1930s in Ross-shire, when bust in the 1990s due to cheaper competition from elsewhere. By that time it had moved from the Highlands and had its premises in, I think, Glasgow.
