I should also note that I am not wearing / carrying the Officer's Dirk, the Basket-hilted Claymore, nor the Two-handed Claymore in its Backhanger Scabbard .
The Targe will also be left at home .

Oh, it's sharp - very. On one forum post, someone said: "If it's not sharp, it's just a letter opener" or something similar. I almost cut myself when I read that because I was sharpening my letter opener at the time .

I also have decided to forgo the sgian dubh. I thought about wearing Gilleys, but think that would be a bit much. So, I'll just wear my regular black wing-tips.
I thought of dressing up a bit more than I normally would -- but don't really have anything between business casual and black tie -- none of my suit coats (all three of them) is quite suitable for wear with a kilt and sporran. Some day...
Sounds like you'll be looking sharp . Just remember (and I'll take my own advice) - if there isn't a picture, then it didn't happen .

New Mexico is pretty much like Texas in this regard, folks might be suprised by the kilt, but most males over the age of 5 have a knife on them!
I think the only thing on your list I'd change would be the shoes, I feel like gillies are a little 'formal' for your office look.

I think gillies are too formal for the work place. Oh, that they were too formal for all other places!

I must confess to being a little bumfuzzled by the advice to leave the skean
dhu at home. I almost always have on me a knife, with the shortest main
blade being a sixteenth shy of three inches. Others have longer. Even when
work was the Federal Reserve, in the accounting department. Given your
locale, the absence might cause more negative attention than the presence.
If that is common practice where you work, I would not consider leaving it off.
I, however, am not on the ground where you are, so I'll go out on a limb and trust your judgment.
Have fun!
P.S. Though I, too, might rethink the ghillies.

Last time I wore a kilt to church a nice older woman came up to me and started talking about be dressed properly. I assumed I was going to get the "question" but, no, she peeked around to my right calf, saw my sgian dubh smiled and said in a loud voice "Ah a Properly Attired Gentleman!"
Think you will do just fine. No worries.

Your outfit sounds fine and I would agree with many other and wear some other shoes. Enjoy, I'm jealous. I'd like to wear my kilt, but alas...the Navy will not permit that.

Updated outfit.
When in doubt, ask the boss. He says definitely DO wear/carry the sgian dhu. And also, "Please wear the Ghillies even if they are too 'formal' for the office". So, that's what I'll be wearing tomorrow.
I'm adding a new accessory to the set, however: a pair of crutches. On Friday, April 1 (April FOOLS Day), I was the fool and managed to run myself over with my pickup. No broken bones or internal damage other'n a seriously smooshed thigh muscle.
I'll make sure my wife gets pics and will post them after-the-fact.
