Loch Lomond is now part of the Santa Cruz Scottish Renaissance Faire...Masters throw June 19th. It's the same date that Campbell used to be on.
I still mourn the Livermore event. Dunsmuir is a definite No this year, not happening. Dixon is a maybe, so I hear. I guess we'll find out in a month or so..

There's a big difference between throwing in the Santa Cruz mountains among the redwoods versus throwing in the amusement park area of combination flea market/dirt track.
We used to camp out the night before the games on the grounds in Ben Lomond with the re-enactment troupe and we'd hit up the Ministry of Food for breakfast at first light. Following the day's activities there always was a ceildh on the property next to the park where all were invited to partake. It was tradition to drop $5-$10 into the dinner kitty. Music, dancing, drinking...aye, those were the days.

Droid, all the video was on Bethanys camera, and she's probably deleted it by now.
I do have a number of practice and Games video's up on YouTube, from past years. Look at the dates, they go back a 'ways. My YouTube username is "bluekletztette".....it's a music thing.

Alan, in your OP you mentioned a video, any luck with getting that put together? Would you be able to post it?

I checked out your youtube channel... cool stuff.
One question, when you and I were talking about having me compete at this years Sea Side Games, you mentioned that I should compete in class C. What is the difference between class C and Novice?

Note that a lot of places don't differentiate, and there's just a C class, with no Novice class. Basically if it's your first Games and you've never seen the gear before, then throw in the Novice class. Do that for 1-3 Games or until you've had some good practices, basically until you start getting a handle on the stuff. Once you throw at a level where you're not falling all over yourself and your form at least looks like you know what you're doing, move up to the C class.
If you're naturally athletic and you have a chance to do a few practices with someone who gets you started out right, you might just do your first Games in Novice and move straight into the C's. I actually coached one guy who was the center on the Stanford football team, who did about 10 practices with me before his first Games, went out and won the B Class at Woodland, which is a BIG Games!
