Well Ron, when that day comes you'll have yourself a resident tour guide at your disposal. In addition to the redwoods, as a train fan, you'd love the narrow gauge trip through the forest.
She has a sister, but not in this area. We may still be able to hook you up with a hiking partner though. I'll look into it a bit and put out some more bait to entice you this way!

Drool, slobber, pant.....Don't care where she lives if she's of the same mold as your beauty....
And someday...coastal Cali....someday...

Beautiful Pics! Thanks for posting. I bet those trees would cool off of our Texas Heat.

While i don't care for Cali i do miss the redwoods. I've seen the coastals the mariposa grove and the Sequoias. There are nearly no words that describe them properly. Pictures Hardly even do them justice tho yours definitely do very well at it.

Agreed
I agree Korvyn, photos, mine included, can't capture them in all their glory.
There is a large slab cut from one near the visitor center, and it has various points in time flagged at different ring locations on the slab. "Fall of the Roman Empire" "Columbus lands in North America" "US civil war" etc. to give some perspective on how long many of these giants have been on this earth. Some even longer than Jock Scot and M.o.R. combined!!

I always said that the bad thing about trying to capture them in photos is to get the whole tree in one shot you're far enough back that they don't appear as majestic as they truly are.
