Hi Phenz - You do mean a real shirt don't you - buttons and worn with a tie? And not one of those Highlander/Jacobite/Phoney Scotsman/Pirate type shirts - because that would be a mistake - whatever colour it is.
Why not pop over to the Newbie section and let us welcome you properly.

If this is any kind of a formal event, I think white would be preferable. You don't need to be matchy matchy with the bride in basic attire. If it is more casual, then I'd consider any color compatible with the kilt.

We are all forgetting the correct way to answer this question. Next time you are discussing the wedding with your future bride, say "Dear, what do you think?" And then you will know what to do. Based on 40+ years of married life. Trust me on this one.

Start practicing now:
"Yes dear you are right, that is exactly what I will do. You are so smart, that is one of the reasons I married you."
After 35 years of marriage I have learned that my opinion is always right if it agrees with hers.

The cream vs. white shirt debate is strictly dependent on one as-yet unmentioned factor: the looks of the bride.

I hate to buck conventional thought--not really --but you should choose your attire. Don't try to match the girls and don't let them dress you. You may end up looking like Freddie Mercury.
