Well, yes and no. Frugal Corner was going for about four years before they closed. How long does a vendor have to be in business before they can be classed as long established? And how long are they going to stay in business if we all go to vendors who are longer established?
We only need look at the top of the page and the bottom and the right to see vendors who have not been going that long. It is truly unfortunate that they have gone under, but in the end we have to trust people. Otherwise it will be a shrinking market and our sons will only be able to buy from one retailer.

Apparently wasn't around long enough to take care of the folks they still owe money to...that's sad...

I purchased some used Rental kilts from this organization; overall, they were not that bad. I agree with Chas's sentiment
entirely, fresh new vendors give us ALL a choice and range of products.

I've got two of their acrylic kilts in my tartan... I guess they're going to be collector's items
I had problems with a solid green lightweight kilt I ordered from them, the wrong size, took forever to get it, and the stitching was poor. They sent me a heavyweight kilt in New World Irish in the right size as a freebie to compensate for the problems. So, I guess I have a collector's item too. I'm wearing it as I type this.
ETA: I could wear the green one if I repair the stitching on one of the buckles, although really it needs a belt to hold it up! I have been thinking that since I have to do some sewing anyway I should alter it to bring it down a size.

Sorry to hear this. I have a formal sporran from Frugal Corner and I like it a lot. Best wishes to those who are out money.

I thought that they tried to sell their company (for $250,000... at least that's the number Mark gave me when he offered to sell FC to me) but couldn't find a buyer. If they did find a buyer, I would be very curious who it is.
I think it's doubtful that they did sell b/c their website is down and their facebook page is gone and there hasn't been any announcements of a sale. It appears as though he's just closed up shop with outstanding orders.

I was going by Mark having said someone offered to buy the Frugal Corner in October 2011, but he didn't say who, or for how much. Maybe it didn't go through.
I just did a bit of Googling and saw some things about the demise of the Frugal Corner being attributed to a combination of family illness and natural disaster. I hope Mark and his kin are OK....

If you looked at the facebook link provided in earlier posts, you will note he's doing well. He's had a number of months to deal with outstanding orders, and that's not happening. I think the business is gone and won't return.
