No headgear for me. I have so much thick hair I get too hot in a hat.

When it's cold or wet, a Balmoral. Never a Glengarry, sometimes a wide-brimmed cotton thingme, but most often bare-headed.

Balmoral or Glengarry most of the itme. Occasionally a baseball cap (w/ Louisville PIpe Band logo). The rest of the time bare-headed.

To my eye, a Stetson or similar type of wide-brimmed hat just looks out of place with Scottish attire.

I'm with the majority on this one- it's rare that I wear a hat. I've got my old OD boonie that I might wear if the sun is pounding and my Ryan Ross Balmoral if it's pissing down rain or sleet and an umbrella won't do (too windy, hands full), but other than that I'm not a hat guy.

I am a hat guy; I'm nearly always covered with some sort of headgear. While working, it's a ball cap. For general purposes, it's usually a flatcap. Kilted, I wear the Balmoral unless piping with the band, in which case the PM mandates the Glengarry. Of all my hats, my Mackie Balmorals are the most comfortable and are my first preference.

Sorry, I cannot respond to "public" polls. Having been a social studies teacher in my former life I still believe in the ideals of the secret ballot - regardless the topic.

    We promise not to look

I sometimes have to wear a hat (part of a uniform). That would be: I wear other hats, be they cowboy or flats, baseball or tilley, no headdress is silly.

I do have a Glengarry but tend not to wear it very often. That would be: Aye! Bonnets are bonnie, balmoral or glen... Tis just as smart now as e'er it was then.

So for me it is a it depends on mood and obligation.

Simply don't respond then. There's absolutely no need to apologize!

Just curious though, do you demand that everyone submit secret notes rather than a simple show of hands when some one asks, "Do you want me to order pizza or Chinese?"...
