Thank you all! I'm doing a bit of Christmas knitting just now but will have the next pair on the needles soon. We have gotten so many of the family men kilted that I have a long list ahead. . .

My dear Sydnie. I am also named Bob and we are the luckiest men around to have ladies of your quality in our lives. If pressed your Bob will tell you so and spend the rest of his life making the point.

Fortunately he requires no pressing and knows just how lucky he is ;) as am I, to have a Bob of my very own!

Sydnie those are beautiful! Love the color, they look very nice with the grey shoes.

Splendid work, Sidney! I think you really hit the nail on the head with color and design. Does Bob know how luck he is to have a knitter in the house? Oh yeah, and a kiltmaker? Thank you very much for sharing your work. What is your next project? Are you coming this way for this summers' Kilt Kamp? If so, please bring these along to share with everyone. NO doubt they'll be a real hit!

Thanks, Mac! Yes, Bob is well aware of how lucky he is (and I remind him periodically LOL). Sadly, I think Kilt Kamp was a bucket list time and unlikely to be repeated sans lottery ticket. Right now I'm working on a bag for MOD sporran cantle, then I have kilt hose promised to several other family members. . . A victim of my own success! Cheers and thanks again.

Ooops, forgive me for misspelling your name, Sydnie! I spent the whole day running errands yesterday before this huge snow storm hits and I'm a wee bit addled from all the miles. It's snowing now, but I really wonder how much we'll get. Probably not much. We'll see.
Did you make the tops of the hose as a strip and attach them after you finished the rest of the sock? It kind of looks that way, but was kind of hard to tell from the pictures. I just wanted confirmation before I started my own. (Yes, truth be told; I'm a closet knitter! LOL! I really enjoy the quiet meditative focus that blocks everything else in life out for a while, and then magically end up with a new pair of hose to wear at the end. I love it!)

Yes, I knitted the cuffs separately on DPNs. I bound off the top of the hose then just sewed the two finished edges together. Didn't use any fancy stitch, just pinned the two pieces together (adjusting for ease, as they were not exactly the same dimension) then overcast stitch to join them. Oh, and I did sew the short edges of the cuff together to form a circle before stitching that circle onto the top of the hose section. Hope that's clear, I didn't take time to photo the process. Might document the next pair when it comes time.
And no worries about spelling, trust me I've seen worse LOL

Thank you very much, Sydnie! I've got it! I just need to find the pattern you used on Ravelry and find some suitable yarn. I've got some I'd like to use, but I need more. Wish me luck, OK? I think I may need it finding that pattern.
Slàinte!,
