If a Brit. might respectfully make an observation here. Those who so rightly remember all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Please also remember those vets who returned home with broken minds and bodies who have in the past, and still do today, grievously suffer for the rest of their lives, as do their loved ones. There are few parades, bands and magnificently worded epitaphs for them.
Lest we forget.
" Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the adherence of idle minds and minor tyrants". Field Marshal Lord Slim.

There is a quote which, if you have not heard, deserves to be mentioned.
"A veteran is one who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'"
To all those who have raised your hand, and signed that blank check, I salute you. I remember and honor you. And I thank you.
