No prob Rufus. People don't realize it but New Mexico is the size of the former west Germany and is the 10th largest state in the US. I do know a couple of college kids in Albuquerque so a trip is not out of the question. I not sure if Kathy has a store, it looks like she runs her business out of her home. If I do head up that way I'll be sure to report what I find out.

She's only 453 miles from me...beautiful drive across the Navajo Nation.
You're probably right about working out of her home. I'm hoping for a response to my email sometime tomorrow. Hope she's the answer to my quest for a Macdonald Lord of the Isles tartan kilt.

So, another kiltmaker too busy to respond to buying questions...nothing from her...no response to my invite to join the board too.
Anyone actually had communication with this lady? Is she still alive?
Its my own expectations that she would monitor her email and respond to prospective clients...
No clue what to do now...had my hopes up that I'd found a quality traditional kiltmaker, close to home, who could make the traditional kilt I want...
Seems like the skills needed for making a good kilt are completely opposite the skills needed to market and sell product...

Well brothers, here's an update on Kathy's Kilts.
Placed my order for the Macdonald Lord of the Isles tank about November 1st. Just heard from Kathy that it'll be finished in about two weeks. A six week jones that is much less than I'd expected for a hand sewn kilt done by a lady with her credentials.
She is a craftsman...spends her time at her craft. She's not much at answering emails and prefers to be telephoned...meaning the customer pays the phone bill to talk to her rather than free email.
And, she must have picked up some frugal traits during her training in Scotland. I paid with Pay Pal and she's adding her Pay Pal fee, about $14.00 USD to her fee. Not a big thing for me, but nice to know up front.
Bottom line, I'm expecting a very nice kilt soon, my first tartan other than two SportKilts...
