Don't mention those charges to me! On my leather UK alone I had to pay £126 (US$230) to the British government before it was delivered in Jan 2003! I want to order a couple more (the camos are coming back, but in limited quantities) but I'm holding off because of our import charges. I'll wait to see what's available when I visit Seattle next August.
OUCH!!! How much is a plane ticket to Seattle these days? It may be cheaper to fly out to Seattle for a week to get your kilts.
