I hope this is appropriate to announce here. The Scottish Tartans Authority is hoping to set up an on-line archive to house vintage photographs (pre-1935) showing the kilt being worn. You can see the "work in progress" page here:

If anyone would like to submit their vintage kilt photographs to this project, please email Brian Wilton at admin@tartansauthority.com with the photo, and the name(s) and information on the people in the photo (if you know it). He's also willing to accept photos by snail mail and scan them in for you (and return the original), if you are unable to scan them yourself.
