Alan: Thanks. Great news, I hope. Tell him we know he's ugly and smells bad. That's no excuse. We don't care. We don't run the Smell-a-Post app, anyway.
I always assumed that in recent months he was having his kid impersonate him on the forum, while he carbed up into "The Incredible Bulk" for the games.

Yes--I'm alive and quite well. Many thanks to you guys who were kind enough to look in on me. And sorry about my break from posting on this thread...I had reached an heretofore unimaginable threshold--I was absolutely sick of seeing myself talk about myself.
I know, I know; I didn't think that could ever happen, either!
So, the last few months in a nutshell: Very little throwing, regular running, and a mixture of heavy and speed weight work. The last 3 weeks I've combined the P90X program with a speed lifting program. I'm trying to triangulate the Highland throwing with my 3-10 mile mud runs. We'll see how that works out...I suspect that it'll leave me ill-prepared for either.
I have been in touch with the organizer of our local practice group. Next week is Mother's Day, and then he and some of the group are headed to Albuquerque for the Master's championship. After that I will attend my first real practice. That'll give me about a month until my first games--a new/resurrected games down in CO Springs that has a genuine novice class.
Long way to go, and a short time to get there. Enjoying the trip, though!

LitTrog: Great to have you back - noxiously noisome or not.
Glad that you are doing well despite all that physically demanding training. Good luck in the CO Springs games - stoning the put, tossing the caper, and all that. I hope you have a lot of fun. Post some pics for us.

Noisehole calibrated for maximum noxicity.
I'll resume posting on here--probably not daily, and the focus will be throwing more than the lifting. While my log hasn't kept up, I am pleased that I've stuck with my goal for these past 8 months and have been putting my efforts toward making it happen. I think the only thing I've stuck with longer was a placenta.
Four games, four months. Pictues, of course! Even if they're the ones fit for low comedy.

Rodger. Positive function. Negative response.
I'll leave you alone for a while, so you can get ready for the games. Good luck.
Ciao!

It's good to see you back here!
I log as a motivational tool, and also as a record-keeping tool. I could keep a workout blog but that just seems so self absorbed. This is a good compromise, and I do go back now and then and look up stuff. But hey, do what works for you!
Going to the MWC, probably Al Stagner or Mark Buchanon.... both good guys.

I recall watching Al Stagner win a couple games I attended. Wayne Staggs runs the practice group--I assume he'll be there, too.

Wayne is a great guy...you're lucky to have him nearby as a resource....that's excellent.
