Pub recommendation
Apologize in advance for the hopefully short hijack but I figured you all would have the best advice. My wife and I will be in Chicago for a short getaway from the 19-21st and I'm looking for some of your opinions on good/best pubs to check out downtown. Will be staying on South Dearborn st a couple of blocks from Grant park. Local knowledge usually beats Google most days.
Regards & Thanks,
Don

You will prob find the good to great pubs further north. But exchequer pub is a great place to go with great pizza. One of my favs. Elephant and castle has great single malt. And if you make it to the north side. The entire place is a party.

So who is going on the 17th? I'm figuring @Mikilt @Sample m @DyerStraits for sure, who else is attending? @McFarkus @sbevans And will the womenfolk be coming as well? My wife wants to know.

Just an update, I am not able to break free due to business "responsibilities" and the short duration of this trip. I may be back in January (not by choice!), and we can try for then.

I have a family commitment, and will be unable to attend. I hope the kilt nights continue, as I would really like to catch up with everyone if my schedule ever improves.

Sorry gents. I'm sure I'm not going to make it tonight. I'm working till 3:30 downtown. And I have a sick baby at home, so I feel like I should be around to help. I'm real sorry guys. And can't wait for our next meet up.
