Oh and how could I forget Longmorn, 15 years old I believe, I've had many wonderful evenings with Longmorn.

One of my favourites is McClelland's 12yo Sherry Finished single malt. It's smoky, but the sherry aging gives it that je ne sais qois.

These threads always make me my taste buds sing and want to try more and more. I've tried a lot but still don't have a favorite. I always enjoy trying a new one and enjoy going back to the more popular single malts out there. Some of the smaller makers make some interesting tasty singles and blends.
With the right company a bottle goes down smooth as silk. Somtimes it's a good thing Machummel lives right next door. There have been times it goes down very very smooth.

If you think the 12 is good, try the 18! It's out of this world!

That's one of the reasons I like Ballvenie's double casked 12 year old so much. It spends it's first half of aging in a traditional barrel and then the second in sherry casks. You get the best of both worlds that way.

well, as I write I am enjoying a dram of Bowmores 12 year old. I bought a litre bottle at Heathrow on the way back from Scotland.
I have a new bottle of 10 y/o Laphroaig staring at me also, begging to be opened.
Life is surely good, a fine dram, a warm kilt, who could ask for more?
