I still find myself looking for pockets. It's an old habit. It's not for the stuff that's in the sporran - it's just something that when I'm standing and talking to someone I never knew what to do with my hands so I stuck them in my pockets. You will always get looks and feel like you're getting looks but I don't get bad comments (except from my friends).

You WILL be wanded in airport security, and now I understand the "right foot in, left foot out" dance others have addressed. The plane ride was very comfortable, with very minimal creases in the pleats.

    RIGHT!
    Congrats!

Funny thing you mention the pockets. I've worn UK Mockers, then changed to a tartan kilt and sporran, and caught myself trying to find the pockets. People give funny looks when going for the wallet in my sporran at a checkout. Hey, gotta keep it somewhere!

I've worn a black AK numerous times through security, and haven't been wanded. Did remove the "sporran" that had all the metal stuff in it and put it on a tray; convenient for that.
